South Coast Cahors - dessert red wine made from the Saperavi grape which is of Georgian origin and unusually has red juice as well as red skins. Also translated as 'Cahors', and although the wines have few similarities. Kagor does have the same 'black' colour of old style Cahors and is noted for its extreme longevity. Kagor has much more in common with Vintage Port.

The production of this high quality wine started in 1933 and the very first name of wine was Ayu-Dag Cahors. In 1945 the wine received its present name. Before harvesting the ancient Georgian wine reaches 24 % of sugar content of this part of land. The young wine is made by heating and infusion of crushed grape before fermentation. Later it is matured in oak barrels of 400-800 litres in cellars and only after that it is bottled.

Under many years of ageing the wine developes beautiful hints of coffee, chocolate, vanilla in its nose. South Coast Cahors has intensive ruby colour. The bouquet of wine is very complex, varietal with the touch of milk cream and black currant.

The resultant wine has 18.8 % of sugar and 15.0 % of alcohol.
