Red Port Crimea is produced since 1944 from Cabernet, Sauvignon, Saperavi, Morastel, Bastardo, Aleatico and other grapes, growing in the vineyards, scattered from the settlement of Opolznevoye in the west all along to Alpachak Mount in the east. Grape is harvested when natural sugar content has reached no less than 18%. The period of ageing in oak vats is 3 years and after that we can enjoy harmonious bouquet, long aftertaste and perfect ruby color. The resultant wine has sugar level - 10 %, alcohol 17.5 % vol.

A long, complex and labor-intensive process of ageing enables a young wine to mature and become a high quality fine wine, ready for bottling and then for further ageing. In the early years of maturation the Red Port Crimea has a deep colour which envolves over time to dark ruby-garnet and  rich , yet elegantly expressed, ripe fruit bouquet of mature port. When bottled and stored in the Massandra cellars, ports like all other wines, undergo tremendous evolution. Red Port Crimea can be stored long term at home also so long as it is kept in the horizontal position.

Red Port Crimea is considered to be a good dessert wine that may be offered with cakes, pies, tarts and other sweet dishes.
