Livadia Red Port is the oldest Massandra wine. Classical port was made for the first time in 1891 in Livadia winery.

   It is made from the remarkable red grape variety Cabernet Sauvignon that grows in the vineyards in the vicinity of Simeiz, Livadia, Massandra, Ai-Daniel. Slate soil and the southern hot sun helps to accumalate natural sugar. The grape is harvested when it has not less than 22 % sugar. The young wine is aged in cellars for three years, passing through all maturing stages. The resultant wine has deep, ruby colour. Famous Cabernet granted variety the wine with unique, powerful, mouth-filling bouquet, with softness of morocco. Full, well balanced palate with delicate hints of cherry stone. A fascinating aftertaste.
