Massandra Red Port is made from the Moourvedre grape variety since 1891. The vineyards are scattered on montain slopes all along the coastal line from Mount Cat to Mount Castel. Harvested when natural sugar content is no less than 20 %. The young wine is aged in oak casks in he cellars of Alupka winery for three years. The portisation gives piquancy that later makes an impression. The resultant sugar level - 6 %, alcohol - 18.5 %. Massandra Red Port has deep ruby colour. Typical, well pronounced bouquet, delicate with a light morel nose, that is more compound when aged while acquiring brandy hints. Powerful, rich, wellbalanced palate.
