Tokays are enchanting by their full, deep, mahogany colour with golden glints, well pronounced grapey bouquet, soft developed nose of lovely honey, with deep hints of ripe quince and quince jam and light aroma of newly-baked rye bread crust. Unique colourfulness, richness of bouquet anf full harmonious palate as well as softness and oilness make this wine extraordinary and marvellous.  South Coast Nectar will impress everybody!  Bouquet of wine is fine, bright, varietal with tinges of quince and honeyand touch of freshly baked rye bread. Palate is oily, full harmonious, with honey – quince combination and delicate noble dessert aftertaste.

  Tokay wines (Nectar) came to Crimea from Poland. In 1606 Mnizcek brought to Moscow 30 barrels of Tokay wine for the wedding of his daughter with False-Dmitry. Since 1892, Massandra started to make new liqueur wines, one of them being the Massandra Tokay which is composed of the Furmint and Gars Levelieu grape varieties of very late harvesting. Grape is harvested when natural grape sugar content is no less than 26%. South coast Nectar is ageing in in oak casks no less than 2 years. When ageing this unique wine not only preserves but also increases its merits. At the age about 100 years it gets the highest marks for its tasting note.

  The wine has a very fine, dark golden or golden-amber colour with a specific bright Tokay bouquet in which there are splendidly balanced honey overtones with nose of freshly baked rye bread crust and quince jam, and sometimes with delicate aroma of fragrant grasses and ripe south fruits. There is no other wine like this in the world.

  It is a great surprise how all the Massandra Tokays display themselves during long bottle ageing in the collection - they maintain their high grapey quality for many years. Maturation merely serves to improve their bouquet and flavour, making them very elegant and exceptionally fine. Fullness and richness, which appear as the result of the great extract, make them extremely harmonious.
